Media Monitors analysed the coverage of six major Australian companies, two prominent politicians, one leading business figure and one well known sports figure in March 2010 to provide an assessment of the difference between news website coverage and newspaper coverage in Australia, predominantly in the areas of commercial and political news. Our aim was to provide a snapshot of how much content across these areas is shared between the major metropolitan newspapers and their online properties and how much is unique to either the print version or the online version.
